Hello there! Welcome back to another edition of Development Insider, a special issue for Coaster Con! Which kicks off today, and we have an awesome booth if you'd like to check it out! You can find more info on their website. Now we have had a very busy summer, with significant progress. So today we will be taking a look on what's been happening behind the blocks!
First off, we had our first Closed Beta! To test some of the features we will be discussing today. The Beta has now ended, and helped us improve the player experience. (Along with backend things) So what have we been working on? Lets start with The BANTHA! Since we have Tatooine, you need a Bantha right? So of course this was our first mob added to the game. You can see him in the images below, and yes you can ride him. We have added other mobs that'll make the sands of Tatooine more dangerous, since we don't think getting lost and dying of hunger is enough.
Now for the most exciting addition this summer. The Force! This is a first for SWMC, with over 20 different abilities. Including Force Push, Pull, Choke, Heal, Fire, Lightning, and so many more. Mastering the Force will make you an unstoppable force, unless you get stabbed with a Lightsaber and don't have plot armor. In the video below you can see a few powers in use. (No villagers were killed in the making of this video, just injured...) Jedi, and Sith will have exclusive powers to make combat more interesting, and note that not all Force Powers just effect your enemy!
As you use the Force Powers more, they get stronger. Now if your not a Jedi, or a Sith, and need to get away in a hurry, you'll need a speeder! Also in development is a unique speeder system that allows you to apply upgrades, shoot, and more!
We are super excited for the future of this server, as we continue to get closer to release. And we have one more thing. How about another planet? Large Scale? Lots to do? Naboo? Yep, Naboo will join our line up of large explorable planets! Lots of Quests, Shops, and more! Take your first look below.
